I have a young puppy, will this work for him/her?

How long can it take to teach dogs new tricks like potty training?
The amount of time it takes a dog depends on a lot of factors. The dogs age, attention span, intelligence, as well as distractions, your body language, and mood. We go over what needs to be done to ensure all possible training strategies are used to help your dog learn commands easier. With these things taken into account and if you make little to no mistakes in your training, the time it takes to train your dog will depend on your dogs intelligence level. The smartest dogs have been proven to understand a trick/command after one repetition, and will remember the command/trick within seconds 95% of the time after that repetition. The least intelligent dogs take 30-40 repetitions before they learn a command and will only be able to react to that trick/command 30% of the time, so likewise it will take 90-120 repetitions before the least intelligent dogs will learn the tricks/commands. With this in mind, the average learning time of dogs is 15-20 repetitions where the dog will remember the trick 50% of the time. It is estimated that puppies need to use the bathroom 50-70 times per week, which will allow your dog to be fully potty trained in 5 days (30-40 repetitions to get above 90% response in your puppy). Older dogs have better bladder control and can focus more on tricks and body language (are less distracted) so with less repetitions they can learn more. If your older dog needs to go out 25-30 times per week you should be able to potty train your older dog in 5-7 days.
